After you stop the recording, clicking on the "Finish" button will prompt Windows Movie Maker to package your file (still as a project file, and not a movie), and display it with the first frame of the file in view. The next step is to use the left button of your mouse to click on the first-frame image of your recording and drag it down to the far left "video" section of the "Show Storyboard" as shown below.

Now you're ready to save your file as a .wmv movie that can be viewed in Windows Media Player. As shown below, click on File > Save Movie File, give your file a meaningful name, such as "borescope_stator_022206" and save it. There is no need to add the .wmv extension, as it will automatically be appended by Windows Movie Maker in the process of saving the file.

You will be brought to the dialog you see below; in most cases, it is best to save for computer playback as this will produce the best quality image. If, however, the movie is being produced specifically to send via email or to a video-enabled cellphone etc., you can choose to optimize it to those settings here. Better yet, if there's a chance you will want to send the file through email as well as view on a computer, for instance, then save the project file with a meaningful name so you can go back and have Windows Movie Maker repackage the project file for different optimization settings (an email file will be packaged into a much smaller file size so it can be sent across the internet; the quality of the video will, of necessity, be less than for viewing on a computer .

There are a couple more dialog boxes that will pop up, allowing you to view the video, if you wish, when the process of saving it is complete. If you don't wish to view it, just uncheck the box.
Your borescope recording is now complete.
